Lived Loved: A Good Friday Devotional

Holy Spirit spoke these words to me upon waking this morning:

“Lived loved. Live as if you know without a shadow of doubt—in every bone in your body, in the very core of your soul I breathed life into—that I love you.”

Lord, I admit, I don’t live that way.

I can be a very distracted, distant lover, seeking affection from sources that will, ultimately, fail me.

I run when things get hard. You stayed the course and showed the world the essence and extent of Your love and faithfulness.

I question Your will and doubt You. You pray to the Father, ask Him to change His will—sweating beads of anguish in the midst of prayer—and trust and obey Him anyway.

Thank you for Your faithfulness.
Thank you for Your obedience.
Thank you for dying for my sins.
Thank you for enduring the cross.
Thank you for Your mercy, Your grace, and Your unfailing, forever-faithful love.
